Delegation of Colombian firefighters arrived to the Czech Republic
4. 4. 2022 (MF) - The General Director of the Fire and Rescue Service of the Czech Republic (FRS CR), Major-General Vladimír Vlček, today welcomed the Director General of the Bomberos de Colombia (DNBC) and Commander-in-Chief Charles Wilber Benavides Castilla, along with other Colombian firefighters, in the building of the General Directorate of FRS CR. They visited the Czech Republic (CR) within the project of economic diplomacy, which is implemented in cooperation with the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Bogota.
The project aims to show the operation of FRS CR and the use of Czech firefighting technologies and solutions in practice to the management representatives of the Colombian fire brigade. The Czech Republic has a long tradition in this area, unique know-how and a whole ecosystem of companies that produceequipment for firefighters.
The delegation began its visit at the General Directorate of FRS CR, where Major-General Vladimír Vlček presented them the functioning of FRS CR, the Integrated Rescue System, crisis management and population protection. Furthermore, the activities of the Technical Institute of Fire Protection. A tour of the National Operations and Information Center (NOPIS) followed.
Guests from Colombia are going to have a rich program in the Czech Republic until Friday. They will be introduced to possible future cooperation of companies operating in the field of fire technology, such as Hiko, Dekonta, SunFibre, GoodPro, Prabos, Sigma, Tatra Trucks and Deva.
They will visit the fire station in Pilsen, where they will see a demonstration of training, the premises of the Fire protection and training centre in Brno with a demonstration of the premises and technology with the involvement of Holík, GINA and Gumotex. They will be allowed to see examples of firefighting training, rescue from a crashed vehicle or work with altitude equipment. In the second half of the week, they will visit the central station and the Integrated Security Center in Ostrava, fire schools in Frýdek-Místek, as well as Population Protection Institute in Lázně Bohdaneč, where they will inspect the HazMat laboratory.
The project aims to raise awareness of the Czech Republic in the field of fire protection, to explore the possibilities of institutional cooperation and, thanks to the perception of the Czech Republic as a partner country, to support Czech companies producing relevant technologies for export to Colombia.
