Basic information

The Fire Service College (hereinafter referred to as “the school”) is an organizational part of the Fire Rescue Service of the Czech Republic (also “HZS ČR”).

The mission of the school, founded in 1967, is education in the field of fire protection. This takes place in secondary school studies in a daily form, intended for elementary school graduates and is concluded with a maturita exam. The highest form of education is study at the higher vocational school concluded with a final examination and obtaining the title DiS. (level 5B according to the International Standard Classification of Education – ISCED issued by UNESCO). An integral part of the school’s activities are various types of educational programs and professional courses for members of the HZS ČR.

The school is also entrusted with the implementation of service examinations according to Act No. 361/2003 Coll., on the service relationship of members of security forces, as amended, and issuing the relevant certificate, or examinations of professional competence according to § 11 of Act No. 133/1985 Coll., on fire protection, as amended, and processing documentation for issuing certificates of professional competence of individuals.
