The Fire and Rescue Service of the Czech Republic has a new General Director
19. 7. 2021 (MF) - The Prime Minister and the Minister of the Interior of the Czech Republic, Jan Hamáček, appointed a new General Director of the Fire and Rescue Service of the Czech Republic (FRS CR) today. This became Major-General Ing. Vladimír Vlček, Ph.D., MBA, the current Regional Director of the Fire and Rescue Service of the Moravian-Silesian Region.

Major-General Vladimír Vlček was born in 1961. He is married and he has three children.
Major-General Vladimír Vlček has almost 37 years of experience at the Fire and Rescue Service of the Czech Republic, previously four years with volunteer firefighters. He is one of the most experienced fire commanders with amount of theoretical knowledges and the necessary practical experiences obtained by performing of various functions at the district, regional, but also at the national level.
As a commanding officer of the regional fire brigade and a commanding officer of the city of Ostrava, he commanded many important interventions. He was a member of rescue teams on several humanitarian missions in the Czech Republic and abroad. He acts as commander of the evaluation and coordination team of the European Union Monitoring and Information Center after the devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan, the humanitarian disaster in Jordan, or missions in Namibia and Tajikistan, for example.
